Edward Whitechurch

Edward Whitechurch († 1562 in London ) was an English merchant and printer .

Whitechurch was a London merchant and joined Richard Grafton in 1536 , with whom he financed the "Coverdale's Bible" and shortly thereafter the "Great Bible" (1539). In 1543 he printed the Church of England's first prayer book . Whitechurch was briefly imprisoned as a Protestant by Henry VIII , but he could then still under Edward VI. to continue working with Grafton.
