Edyta Geppert (born November 27, 1953 in Nowa Ruda ) is a Polish singer.

Live and act

Edyta Geppert started singing in the folk group Zespół Pieśni i Tańca Nowa Ruda . She received her vocal training at the Frederyk Chopin Music School in Warsaw . Her breakthrough came in 1984 when she won the Polish Chanson Festival in Wroclaw and the Grand Prix of the Polish Song Festival in Opole in the same year . She won this festival with the song Jaka róża, taki cierń (Like the rose, like the thorn) . The song became her first hit in Poland and the basis of her further success. She also won the Opole Festival in 1986 and 1995.

Edyta Geppert mainly sings chansons and set poetry to music . Her repertoire mainly includes songs written by Agnieszka Osiecka . Her album Nic nie muszę was honored with a platinum record in Poland and the albums Moje Królestwo , Śpiewam życie and Best-Of with a gold record .
