Ernst Max Wilhelm Georg Stier (born October 30, 1877 in Petersdorf , † July 16, 1947 in Wismar ) was a German farmer and politician ( DB ).

Life

Ernst Stier was born on October 30th, 1877 as the son of a leaseholder and mayor in Petersdorf (today part of Ribnitz-Damgarten ). He attended the secondary school in Ribnitz until he was ready for primary school in 1893 and then completed an agricultural education. He then worked as an agricultural official until 1903. In 1900 he lived as an inspector in Hohen Luckow (near Stavenhagen). Later he worked in Strameuss at Neukloster . In 1903 he became the owner of a lease in Glasin . In 1913 he married Luise Auguste, daughter of the farm owner Marcath from Zweedorf . In 1919, Stier became head of the Glasin district, as well as school principal and a member of the community orphan council. From 1931 (or earlier) he owned a farm in Zweedorf. In 1947 he died in Wismar at the age of 69.

politics

Stier initially represented the WB (Economic Association) as a substitute in the first ordinary state parliament of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin . In March 1921 he was elected as chairman of the Mecklenburg Village Association (DB) in the second state parliament of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. From June 14, 1922 to March 17, 1924 he was Minister of State for Agriculture, Domains and Forests in the government of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin led by Johannes Stelling . He thus succeeded Otto Schulz . Stier's candidacy for ministerial was controversial, partly because he sympathized with the National Socialist movement. He was elected with 33 of the 64 votes cast. After his election, Wilhelm Brückner and Hermann Reincke-Bloch resigned from their ministerial office. In January 1924, Stier moved from DB to WBSL (Economic Association for Town and Country). Until June 1926 he remained a member of the third state parliament. In 1931 he joined the NSDAP , but was expelled from the party in 1933.
