The Eem

The Eem is a river in the Netherlands , in the north of the province of Utrecht , with a length of almost 19 kilometers. It flows from Amersfoort into the Eemmeer (Eemsee).

Eem warm period

The Eem warm period was named after this small river, as marine deposits from the recent Upper Pleistocene were unearthed during drilling near Amersfoort , which were scientifically described by Pieter Harting in 1874 .

Eembrugge is a place in the municipality of Baarn on the border of the municipality of Eemnes in the Dutch province of Utrecht . It is one of the smallest places in the Netherlands that has ever received city rights. With the exception of the part in the municipality of Eemnes, Eembrugge has 130 inhabitants (2004).
