Eerik-Niiles Kross

Eerik-Niiles Kross (born September 8, 1967 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian politician and diplomat. From 1995 to 2000 he was the head of the Estonian secret service . He was put up for election in 2013 in the Estonian capital Tallinn as the top candidate of the conservative party Isamaa ja Res Publica Liit , IRL ( German Pro-Patria- and Res-Publica-Union ). In October 2014 he left the IRL and joined the Estonian Reform Party .

His parents are the writers Ellen Kross (1928–2016), née Hiob and Jaan Kross (1920–2007). Eerik-Niiles has three other siblings: Toomas Niit (* 1953), Maarja Undusk (* 1959) and Märten Kross (* 1970).
