Egon Parolari

Egon Parolari (born September 21, 1924 in Brugg , Aargau ) is a Swiss oboist and oboe teacher.

education

Parolari studied from 1936–39 with Marcel Saillet, principal oboist of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich Zurich. 1939–43 he graduated from the Zurich Conservatory with a diploma. After the war, he trained with Roland Lamorlette and Pierre Bajeux in Paris.

Orchestral work

In 1943 Parolari played in the orchestra of the Gstaad Music Festival under the conductor Hermann Scherchen . This was followed by a commitment to the Orchester de la Suisse Romande under Ernest Ansermet . From 1944-69 Parolari was a member of the Swiss Festival Orchestra Lucerne , since 1950 as principal oboist.

1944–1989 Egon Parolari was principal oboist in the Winterthur City Orchestra .

Career as a soloist

Parolari won second prize at the Concours de Genève in 1952. He then worked internationally as a soloist and performed in London, Nice, Oxford, Berlin and Munich. He has performed with the City Orchestra of Winterthur , the Musikkollegium Winterthur , with the Munich Bach Orchestra, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra , the Collegium Musicum Zurich and with a number of chamber music ensembles, including the Winterthur String Quartet, the string trio Redditi or the Zurich Chamber -Ensemble. He received further formative suggestions from the conductors Karl Richter , Wilhelm Furtwängler , Joseph Keilberth and Hans Rosbaud .

In 1953, Parolari turned down the offer of a position as first oboist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and moved to Winterthur .

In 1957 he interpreted the world premiere of Peter Mieg's oboe concerto with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra , followed by the world premiere of the Concerto pour Hautbois et Orchester à Cordes by Raffaele d'Alessandro in 1959 .

Teaching

1952–92 Parolari worked as a lecturer for oboe at the music school and conservatory in Winterthur .

In 1989 he received the City of Winterthur's Culture Prize . The Winterthur conductor Reto Parolari is his son.
