The helper and main hero Egon Brümmer meets his eighth wonder of the world , the high school graduate Christine, who reciprocates his affection. But that is where great difficulties begin for him. With lies and excuses, he suddenly becomes entangled in a web from which there is almost no escape.

The novel belongs to the so-called jeans literature about the youthful lifestyle in the GDR. Wohlgemuth was very successful in breaking new ground in the youth book scene.
