The Egyptian Lover
The Egyptian Lover (born August 31, 1963 in Los Angeles , California ; real name Greg Broussard ) is an American hip-hop producer, DJ and rapper of electro / hip-hop , who is one of the most important representatives of this form of West Coast hip-hop .
He started his musical career in 1983 in Los Angeles with his debut single Egypt, Egypt , which became an underground club hit. Other successful songs were And My Beat Goes Boom and What Is a DJ If He Can't Scratch . The Egyptian Lover had less success with his albums; only the 1984 album On the Nile was able to celebrate commercial success.
