broadcast

With the motto “pre-marital exam”, Ehe-Ring released! unmarried young couples against each other. Various competitions, knowledge and skill games were played in four game rounds. The winning couple in the final won a complete living room as the main prize.

Showmaster Wolfgang Reichardt, who moderated the game show See - Guess - Laugh from 1955 to 1957 , developed the concept for Ehe-Ring frei! together with the editor Günter Kersten. All episodes were broadcast live with audience members from the “Wilhelm Pieck” culture palace in Bitterfeld .

Others

In an episode of Marriage Ring Free! the puppeteer Heinz Schröder , who became famous in the 1960s for his “fairytale forest” dolls like Pittiplatsch, Buddelflink or Mr. Fuchs, had one of his first appearances in front of a live audience. Schröder played the hand puppet "Fritzchen", a giant baby that was pushed onto the stage by the moderator and asked the candidates quiz questions. Schröder himself was in a specially made stroller during the performance, which he could move independently and from which only the head of the doll could be seen.
