The former town hall is a gabled house in Brugg in the canton of Aargau . It was built in 1579.

Building history and description

The old town hall was rebuilt in 1579, on the south-west flank of the Black Tower , combining the rear (Aare side) and front houses into a single building block. The building is a three-storey gabled house with schneggen on the west side and a pent roof on the north side. The late Gothic window groups and the basement above the Aare are striking . The south and east facades have cross floors with grooved walls. Most of the interior furnishings date from between the 16th and 18th centuries. B. doors, door locks, window pillars, panels, painted beam ceilings, stucco ceilings.
