Arys Memorial Cemetery

Soldiers of the German and Russian armies rest in the military cemetery in Arys (today Orzysz ). They are all killed in the battle of Arys between September 7 and 8, 1914, an event in the Battle of the Masurian Lakes and the Winter Battle in Masuria .

The facility is located on the main road from Orzysz to Wierzbiny , on the right. The cemetery was created during the Battle of the Masurian Lakes.

The approximately 0.5 hectare cemetery fell into disrepair after the Second World War . Only the central high cross and the today nameless grave crosses have been preserved. The Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge has not yet received any information about the grave complex. The facility is a listed building.
