The Medal of Honor of the Committee of Antifascist Resistance Fighters in the GDR was an award of the Committee of the same name of the Antifascist Resistance Fighters of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated in one step in 1975 and was first awarded on May 6, 1975 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of liberation. The award was made for outstanding achievements in fulfilling the legacy of the anti-fascist resistance fighters and the oath of the liberated anti-fascists.

Appearance and wearing style

The gold-plated medal with a diameter of 32 mm shows on its obverse a red lacquered triangle in the middle of which the part of an arm and a hand can be seen, the fingers of which symbolically show the Buchenwald oath. Above it is the state coat of arms of the GDR. The symbolism is surrounded by a laurel wreath. The medal was worn on an embossed eyelet on a 30.5 × 9.5 mm clasp, also painted red, with a golden frame on the upper left side of the chest.

There was also a larger similarly designed silver medal of honor with a diameter of 60 mm and with the same obverse as above and the lapel inscription "For outstanding achievements in fulfilling the legacy and maintaining the legacy of the anti-fascist resistance fighters" below with crossed laurel branches.
