Honor plaque of the Luftkreis V

The plaque of honor of the Luftkreis V was a non-wearable award of the German Air Force before the Second World War , which was awarded by Lieutenant General Karl Eberth in the period from March 1935 to October 1937 for members of the Luftkreis V for outstanding achievements. It is not known why two versions were awarded.

Bronze version

From cast bronze plaque produced is 107 mm high, 82 mm wide, and shows on its front side the insignia of the Air Force and the underlying five-line inscription: excellent / POWER / commanding / GENERAL AND COMMANDER / in the air circuit V . The name and military rank of the borrower was subsequently engraved above the national badge.

Silver finish

The silver-plated plaque has the shape of a curved shield with the tip pointing downwards and, like the bronze version, shows the Luftwaffe emblem in the upper part and the identical inscription below. Here, too, the name of the entrusted and military rank was subsequently engraved above the sovereign badge.
