Medal of Honor for the Siege of Lyon

The decoration for the siege of Lyon was granted in 1815 by the French King Louis XVIII. donated. The participants in the siege of Lyon during the reign of terror of the revolution were to be honored. The award, which was only awarded 22 years later, was intended for the year 1793 and made a distinction between the volunteers and royal volunteers. The latter were honored with the honorary badge of volunteers in 1814 and 1815 . They also received another form of award.

Appearance

The badge of honor is an eight-pointed cross in brown enamel , set in silver and decorated with gold balls at the tips. There is a silver lily in each of the cross corners. The round center plate in gold shows the year 1793 . A blue border of the medallion with gold rim bears the inscription Siege de Lyon .

A silver lily is attached to the suspension ring. The award was worn on a ribbon soaked in white with a red border.
