Eichenkofen is a district of the large district town of Erding , about five kilometers north of Erding. Together with the neighboring village of Altham, it has around 450 inhabitants.

history

Eichenkofen was first mentioned in a document in 1042. Politically, Eichenkofen was part of the Langengeisling community until 1978 . With the local government reform, the place became part of the city of Erding on May 1, 1978.

Culture

Religious life

Eichenkofen was part of the parish of Eitting until 1956 , and since then it has been a branch of the parish of St. Martin in Langengeisling. The branch church in Eichenkofen is dedicated to St. Egidius .

Sports

The SpVgg Eichenkofen is the local soccer club that currently plays with the first team in the A-class Erding. The SpVgg flag is red and white.

regional customs

Since 1964 there has been a shooting club in Eichenkofen, the SG Eichenlaub Eichenkofen. The association has around 150 members.
