Langengeisling is a district of the large district town of Erding . Until the municipal reform in 1978, Langengeisling was a separate municipality.

geography

The place is in the north of Erding. Except for a small gap, it is structurally connected to the city. It stretches along the Alte Römerstrasse ( State Road 2082 ) about 2 km to the north. At the northern end there is the parish church of St. Martin and an inn with a stork's nest on the fireplace. The Sempt flows directly to the west, and the Erding Air Base is to the east .

history

Geisling was first mentioned in 883. The farming village was elevated to a rural community by the municipal edict in 1818 . In addition to the main town, it consisted of the districts Altham , Eichenkofen and Kehr . On May 1, 1978, the municipality was incorporated into the district town of Erding as part of the municipal reform.

Culture

St. Martin in Langengeisling

Langengeisling has a Catholic Church of St. Martin from the Baroque and Rococo periods , which is located at the northern end of the village. The parish church of St. John, St. Benedict in Altham and St. Giles in Eichenkofen belong to the parish of St. Martin. The sports club with many different offers and a sports field should also be mentioned. There is also the Langengeisling primary school and the St. Martin Catholic kindergarten. The Langengeisling Catholic boys' association is also an important part of community life.
