Eichhorn Schwyz
Eichhorn Schwyz (today Eichhorn Gebr., Owner Greuter und Sohn ) is a Swiss musical instrument manufacturer in Schwyz .
history
It was founded in 1886 by Alois Eichhorn (* 1865; † 1953) and, like J. Nussbaumer and E. Salvisberg, is one of the first great pioneers of the Schwyzerörgeli . In 1886 he began manufacturing and initially manufactured his Örgeli without a resonance box. In 1915 Eichhorn produced the first chromatic hand organ with three melody rows and 36 basses. The then well-known Stalde Franz is said to have brought Eichhorn to build this hand organ. Eichhorn later also built a five-row instrument with 80 basses.
Together with his sons Alois, Josef and Ernst Eichhorn, he coined the term "Eichhorn Schwyz" and thus the name Schwyzerörgeli . The 18 bass Swiss orchestra with cube inlays is still highly valued today.
