Eider-Treene Association

The Eider-Treene Association is a water and soil association in Schleswig-Holstein with headquarters in Pahlen , Dithmarschen.

The association's territory includes the region of the middle Eider including the Treene flowing towards it . The association was formed in 2003 from the merger of the two main associations, Eiderverband and Treenehauptverband. It is located in the Eider river basin district and is the head association of the individual sluice and other water and soil associations. The Eider-Treene Association and its 34 sub-associations are responsible for maintaining water bodies and implementing the European Water Framework Directive as well as maintaining pumping stations and dykes to ensure flood protection.

The Eider Association, the larger of its two predecessor associations, was founded in 1934.
