Federal Song Festival 1868

The 13th Federal Singers' Festival took place in Solothurn from July 11th to 13th, 1868 . It was at the same time the 25th anniversary celebration of the Federal Singers' Association (today the Swiss Choir Association ). A total of 3000 singers took part in 80 clubs. Among the guests of honor were the poets Gottfried Keller and Hermann Lingg .

The Solothurn Cantonal Councilor Franz Vinzenz Lang acted as the festival president . The president of the jury was the Bernese choir pioneer Johann Rudolf Weber , the festival director of the overall performance was the Solothurn conductor Karl Munzinger .
