Federal Song Festival 1905

The 21st Federal Singers' Festival took place in Zurich from July 14th to 18th, 1905 . A total of 8,900 singers took part in 122 clubs. For the first time, the festival program was divided into two days, with the middle Sunday being the culmination of the first half and the start of the second half.

The festival was organized by the two traditional Zurich choirs “Male Choir” and “Harmonie”. The vocal performances were performed in a festival hall on the site of the former Tonhalle on Lake Zurich .

The party president was city president Hans Konrad Pestalozzi . The presidents of the jury were the Frankfurt General Music Director August Glück , the Zurich Music Director Gottfried Lochbrunner and Ernst Reichel from Bern. The three-part performance was conducted by music director Karl Attenhofer from Wetting , Charles Troyon from Vaud, and Gottfried Angerer, music director from Swabia .
