Federal Song Festival 1912

The 22nd Federal Singers' Festival took place in Neuchâtel from July 12 to 16 and July 19 to 23, 1912 . A total of 11,500 singers took part in 136 clubs. For the first time, the song festival took place in French-speaking western Switzerland . After the festival had already been held in two successive parts in 1905, the singing festival took place for the first time in two completely separate groups.

The festival president was Mayor Jean-Ferdinand Porchat . The presidents of the jury were Hans Häusermann from Zurich, Carl Vogler from Baden and the German composer Philipp Wolfrum . The main performances in the four categories were conducted by Gabriel Weber and Friedrich Hegar from Zurich, Karl Attenhofer from Wettingen and Hermann Suter from Basel.

Augustin Bächtiger (1888–1971) won the first prize for his song festival poster Lied to the homeland .
