Cover mirror

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As a cover mirror , book reflector or mirror , the inner part of the two covers is referred to a book - not to be confused with the type area . It is part of the book cover or the book cover .

Analogous to the names for the book covers (front cover and back or back cover), a distinction is also made between the front and rear mirrors . Usually the mirror consists of glued parchment or paper sheets. Often, waste , i.e. older, no longer needed writing material from books or documents was used for the mirror .

Over time, the initially empty mirror sheets were often used by the owners of the books for entries of all kinds, such as the documentation of family events, legally binding contracts and transcripts of documents, the mere entry of names or ex-libris .
