Unity ( Ossetian Иудзинад ; Russian Единство ) is a political party in the Republic of South Ossetia, which is internationally recognized by only a few countries . It is currently the strongest political force in the South Ossetian parliament . Politically, the party is closely aligned with the Russian ruling party United Russia , with which a cooperation agreement has also been concluded.
history
Unit was founded in 2003 and supported the country's then president, Eduard Kokoity . and has since emerged victorious in the 2004 parliamentary elections in South Ossetia and also in the 2009 parliamentary elections . In the presidential election in South Ossetia in 2011 , however, the party suffered a defeat when the independent candidate Alla Dschiojewa clearly prevailed against the unity-supported Anatoly Bibilov .
