Standard key

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A uniform key is the name given to identical keys that are issued to a larger group and close a large number of keyed-alike locks. Typical uses are alpine club huts , money boxes and disabled toilets ( euro key ).

Since every key holder can and usually is allowed to open every lock, standard keys, if necessary as a borderline case, must be distinguished from general keys that are privileged in a locking system and intended for a very limited group.
