As a book publisher, Einhorn-Verlag publishes novels, homeland books, illustrated books, poems, cookery, art and children's books. He also publishes magazines, calendars, brochures, city and town maps, as well as official and newsletters. On October 15, 1951, the advertising agency Gmünder Werbebüro / Werbeverlag was registered. In the following January Eduard Dietenberger and Otto Scheffler signed a contract to operate this advertising agency. At the end of 1951, the two partners paid in 20 marks twice each as initial capital; three more 20 Mark payments were made in 1952. In 1951, the advertising agency published the Gmünder Christmas gazette and in 1952 the catalog for the exhibition “Art and Diligence”. In October 1953, after almost a year of preparatory work, the first edition of an illustrated magazine to cultivate the idea of ​​home in the city and district of Schwäbisch Gmünd appeared under the title einhorn . On January 10, 1956, the company was entered in the commercial register as einhorn Verlag und Werbebüro Eduard Dietenberger .

From October / November 1958 the magazine Remstal appeared - Illustrated magazine for home care, culture, economy and hospitality in the Waiblingen district , which was later renamed An Rems and Murr - half-yearly issues for home and culture in the Rems-Murr district . In 1984 the publisher and Konrad-Theiss-Verlag-GmbH each held half of the Ostalbverlag Schwäbischer Heimatverlag Dietenberger & Theiss GmbH & Co. , based in Aalen. The publisher published the Ostalb-Einhorn magazine.

Company founder Eduard Dietenberger died on December 31, 1999.

In October 2002 the Einhorn-Verlag and the company Einhorn-Druck merged to form Einhorn-Verlag + Druck GmbH . From 2004 the company realigned itself with new products (100 years of Parler-Gymnasium, culinary double, Unicornus wine guide, gmuendguide city magazine schwäbisch gmünd, gmuendguide pocket city guide Schwäbisch gmünd, Gschwender Bote, Ostalb-Krimis, city maps, local brochures, local maps, commemorative publications on all occasions).
