The railway bridge on Wöhlerweg is a railway bridge in Darmstadt .
Construction and history
The bridge was built between 1910 and 1912. Its construction is related to the new Darmstadt main station, which was inaugurated in 1912 , and serves to link the railway line to Aschaffenburg with the platform in front of the main station.
The bridge consists of two riveted half-timbered superstructures with parallel straps, each 40 meters long. It is supported at the ends by concrete abutments and in the middle by a solid wall portal support.
In the 1950s, the main lines in the Darmstadt area were electrified . The listed bridge is a good example of civil engineering in the 1910s.
