In the Conches-en-Ouche railway accident on October 24, 1933 , an express train derailed near Conches-en-Ouche , France . 36 people died.

the accident

The Chemins de fer de l'État train was on its way from Cherbourg to Paris . It operated on the Mantes-la-Jolie – Cherbourg railway and derailed shortly before the bridge over the Iton . The steam locomotive , its tender , a brake truck and four passenger cars crashed into the river. The first three cars still had wooden bodies and were badly damaged in the accident.

36 people died, 68 were also injured.
