Langa Langa railway accident

In the railway accident in Langa Langa on February 16, 1970, the front part of a train derailed near Langa Langa (also: Langalanga ) . About 150 people died.

the accident

The scene of the accident is a little south of Kaduna . The train was very busy due to the high number of travelers to the Islamic Festival of Sacrifice . The diesel locomotive derailed, fell down a 25-meter-high railway embankment and tore the first four cars on the train with it.

consequences

About 150 people died. This also includes 52 accident victims who only died later when the truck that was supposed to take them to the hospital was also involved in an accident.
