A four seasons pizza ( Italian pizza [all] quattro stagioni ) is, according to Italian tradition, a pizza with a quarter of one topping each to represent the four seasons of spring , summer , autumn and winter .

The Four Seasons pizza often consists of similar ingredients that are also common for a pizza capricciosa : tomatoes , mozzarella or Parmesan , basil , mushrooms , artichokes , cooked ham , olives , oil . The ingredients can also vary.

The classic Italian cookbook, the silver spoon, describes pizza as a combination of toppings:

  1. Anchovy fillets and green olives
  2. pre-cooked mussels without shell
  3. Boiled ham and mozzarella
  4. Baby artichokes and black olives
