Eisenmenger complex

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A rare congenital heart defect is known as the Eisenmenger complex . It is a special form of Eisenmenger's syndrome with a high ventricular septal defect and an overlying aorta . Otherwise, the clinical picture corresponds to that of Eisenmenger's syndrome with right-left shunt , shortness of breath with cyanosis in the case of pulmonary hypertension with right heart hypertrophy . (The Eisenmenger complex differs from the Fallot tetralogy by the lack of an inadequate blood supply to the lungs due to stenosis of the pulmonary valve or the pulmonary infundibulum). The Eisenmenger complex is named after the Austrian physician Victor Eisenmenger .
