Eisenpimmel is a satire - punk band from Duisburg . It was founded in 1994, but presents itself as a very successful band in the 1980s.

history

According to the official biography, the band was founded in 1983 and consists of Siggi Katlewski (vocals), Bärbel Rotzky (vocals), Wolle Pannek (guitar), Karl Arsch (bass) and Addi Kaluppke (drums). A small number of concerts in the 1980s is said to have helped the band to legendary status.

It is supposedly a satirical project whose origins go back to 1994. Among the stereotypical German texts are also the names of the official cast that the stereotype of the Ruhr - proles meet. Various 7 "singles and sampler contributions were released with this project in the 1990s. This was followed by compilations of these songs, a studio album and a" tribute album "by the band to themselves The band goes on tour too. In 2009 the CD "Feet hoch, Fernsehn an, Arschlecken!" was released . After the release of this album, Bobo replaced Addi on drums what satire is. But sometimes it hits me a lot when I read something like that. That is only because the mouth is perhaps a little looser here than in Schwäbisch Gmünd, for example. You don't understand it there and they think it's superimposed. But go to the pub here, "says singer Siggi Katlewski.

style

Since Eisenpimmel is designed as a satire for German punk bands, this is also the musical style of the band, but on a subtly higher level, which can be recognized by the more complex song structures, polyphonic chants and musical quotations. Individual songs also show a stylistic diversity in that other styles of music such as Schlager ( "Malle Mallorca" ) or rockabilly ( "Too many women, too little time" ) are satirized.

In terms of the text, the satirical character becomes even clearer, frequently used stylistic devices for the proll cliché are, in addition to the typical choice of topics, for example grammatical errors ( "I have drunk my palettes" ), singing in Ruhr German , punch lines occurring in the texts and allusions to other bands (e.g. . One Ton : "we have to get out of here with our lives / we live in prison and not next to it" ).

In order to avoid the danger of neo-Nazi circles being won over due to the apolitical style, the band took a clear stand against neo-Nazis in their interviews and in the song "Give the child wat auf die Fresse" .
