Eitarō Itoyama

Eitarō Itoyama ( Japanese 糸 山 英 太郎 , Itoyama Eitarō ; born June 4, 1942 in Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese entrepreneur and politician of the Liberal Democratic Party .

Life

Itoyama graduated from Nihon University . In the 1974 Sangiin election , he was elected to Sangiin , the upper house of the national parliament, for the Liberal Democratic Party in what was then the national constituency . Between 1983 and 1996 he served three legislative terms as a member of the Shūgiin for the three-mandate constituency of Saitama  3, where he was elected without party in 1983 and 1993 and in 1986 for the LDP, and in 1990 was voted out as an LDP candidate.

As an author, he wrote several books on political and economic topics. He holds significant shares in the Japanese aircraft group Japan Airlines (JAL). Itoyama is married and has two children.

He made a fortune playing golf courses. According to the US Forbes Magazine , he had a fortune of nearly US $ 5 billion in 2005 and was listed in The World's Billionaires . After a revaluation in April 2013, his net worth was estimated at 500 million.
