Eiyū Gaiden Mozaika ( Japanese 英雄 凱 伝 モ ザ イ カ , German " heroic victory story Mozaika") is an anime from 1991, which was created by Studio Deen and was published as an original video animation . The work can be classified into the genres of fantasy and adventure and is also known under the titles Eiyu Yoroiden Mosaica and Eiyu Gaiden Mozaicka .

content

The king of Mozaika, Sazara ( サ ザ ラ ), is influenced by an evil priest and sets out to conquer the other countries. The warrior Lee Wu Dante ( ウ ・ ダ ン テ U Dante ) is executed when he questions the king's judgment. His son Talma ( タ ル マ Taruma ) wants to save Mosaika from the king in his father's place and goes into a hidden valley in which huge, ancient battle robots are hidden. With the help of the hermit Ritish ( リ テ ィ シ ュ Ritishu ), Talma manages to raise an army. But before he can fight the king, he must first save Princess Menoza ( メ ノ ー ザ Menōza ).

Production and publication

The four episodes, each lasting 30 minutes, were produced at Studio Deen under the direction of Ryosuke Takahashi . The script was written by Ryōe Tsukimura based on an idea by Norio Shioyama , who also designed the character. Mitsuharu Miyamae was the artistic director . The responsible producer was Hiroshi Hasegawa and Takeshi Seyama was responsible for the editing . The anime was released by Starchild Records on November 21 and December 21, 1991 on four VHS tapes.

Kaoru Wada wrote the music for the film / OVA series . The credits were accompanied by the song Get the Power !! by Satoko Shimizu .

Light novel

The series director, Ryōsuke Takahashi, also wrote a volume of novels on the work called Mozaika ( モ ザ イ カ , ISBN 4-8291-2455-5 ). This was published on August 25, 1992 by Fujimi Shobō's light novel imprint Fujimi Fantasia Bunko.

reception

The Anime Encyclopedia describes the OVA as an SF fantasy work that is deliberately designed by its creators in such a way that it is reminiscent of their earlier works Votoms and Ronin Warriors .
