Ekbātān

Ekbātān ( Persian شهرک اکباتان Schahrak-e Ekbatan , DMG Šahrak-e Ekbātān , 'settlement Ekbātān', after the ancient Medes capital Ekbatana ) is a district in the west of Tehran . The residential complex is the largest in the city with its own schools and shops. 15,500 residential units are located here on an area of ​​2,208 570 m².

Construction of the Ekbātān settlement began in 1975. It was planned by American architects and completed under the direction of French , German and Italian civil engineers .

The Ekbātān city consists of three complexes of houses, which are called phases . Each of the house complexes consists of independent buildings, called blocks . There are similarities in construction between the first and third house complex. Here you will find one to four-room apartments with an area of ​​50 m² to 240 m². House complex 2 consists of maisonette apartments . There are green spaces between the blocks of houses. On the last Wednesday before Nouruz , the so-called Tschāhārschanbeh-Surī festival is extensively celebrated by the young people here.
