action

The action takes place in the year 50 BC. Almost all of Gaul is occupied by the Romans. Asterix, Obelix and Idefix set out to free their friends who have fallen into the hands of the Romans.

The locations from the comics were taken over into the game. So the three heroes end up in Normandy, Switzerland, Greece, Egypt and Rome. The Gallic village was also modeled.

In their mission, the three are not completely on their own, because Caesar's former master spy HCL (Acidix Hydrochloridrix) helps the three by giving crucial hints at some points in the game. At the end of each section you have to destroy a Roman fighting machine, it is stronger every time Asterix & Obelix hit it.

Gameplay

The game is played from the pursuer's perspective. The player mainly controls Asterix and can also control Obelix in some passages. Idefix is also controllable. The levels are shown in comic graphics and are very spacious and large, but they are more linear. The in-game currency includes the Roman helmets that you either get when you kill Romans or when you smash boxes. Sometimes they're just lying on the floor. Can be saved with druid pots.

Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 Mission Las Vegum is the successor to Asterix & Obelix XXL . In November 2006 the game was also released for the PlayStation Portable and the Nintendo DS under the title Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 Mission Wifix .

action

In the sequel to the first adventure, Asterix and Obelix must track down their druid Miraculix in Caesar's new Las Vegum amusement park. This is said to be responsible for the fact that several druids were kidnapped by Caesar's troops and locked up in Las Vegum. In the course of the game, the two Gauls realize that Caesar is pursuing completely different goals with Las Vegum and that the Miraculix conspiracy is just a diversionary maneuver.

Gameplay

The player must gradually explore the different sections of Las Vegum (including Lutetia, Venetia, Luxor). As in the previous game, the game takes place in the pursuer's perspective. Roman helmets are again used as currency, which can be used to buy postcards. New in the second part is the flexible switching between Asterix and Obelix.

The game contains numerous allusions to well-known video game characters such as Super Mario , Sonic , Rayman , or Lara Croft . These appear in the form of Roman opponents and various elements throughout the amusement park.
