Ekkehard Hessenbruch

Ekkehard Hessenbruch (* 1957 ) is a German cellist , chamber musician and teacher .

Career

Hessenbruch has built a cello center on Engelberg in Remstal since 1976 and founded the Engelberg Cello Orchestra there in 1980 and the Engelberg Free Music School in 1987. In 1995 he founded the Engelberger KammerCellisten, in 2011 the Cello Orchestra Baden-Württemberg with his Engelberger Cello Team as part of the Cello Academy Rutesheim and in 2016 under the patronage of the President of the Cultural Council, Christian Höppner, the German Cello Orchestra with 125 cellos.

Ekkehard Hessenbruch has been involved in the German Music Council as a project advisory board for the Jugend musiziert competition since 2007, and since 2008 he has been Vice President of the German Association of Musicians .

In 2018 Ekkehard Hessenbruch was awarded the Staufer Medal by the Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg for his services .
