Ekkehard Miersch

Ekkehard Miersch (born May 4, 1936 in Potsdam ) is a German former swimmer and Olympic participant. He started for the SV Nikar Heidelberg .

Ekkehard Miersch was born the son of the modern pentathlon Konrad Miersch . He won the German championship over 100 m back three times in a row - 1956 , 1957 and 1958 .

He started on this route at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne . In 1: 07.5 minutes he was 16th of the prelims and thus qualified as the last swimmer for the semifinals, in which he was eliminated despite an increase to 1: 06.6 minutes.

In 1970 he received his doctorate in physics from Heidelberg University .
