El Nuevo Diario ( The New Daily Newspaper ) was a Nicaraguan daily newspaper published in Managua in Spanish .

history

The newspaper was founded in 1980 by Xavier Chamorro Cardenal, the brother of Pedro Chamorros , the former editor-in-chief of La Prensa . Xavier Chamorro and most of the editorial staff, accessible to Sandinista , did not agree with the organization under Violeta Barrios de Chamorro , the widow of Pedro Chamorros.

El Nuevo Diario was directed by Xavier Chamorro until his death on January 4th, 2008. El Nuevo Diario was next to La Prensa (Managua) the most widely distributed newspaper in Nicaragua. Its publication was discontinued on September 27, 2019.
