El Parí

El Parí (" Plaza El Parí " or " Plaza 21 de Noviembre ") is the name of a square in the Bolivian metropolis of Santa Cruz today .

Plaza El Parí is located two kilometers southwest of the Basilica Menor de San Lorenzo in the immediate center of the city at an altitude of 418  m . The square is located on the spot where the leader of the revolutionary troops, Colonel Ignacio Warnes , died in an important decisive battle against the troops of Francisco Javier Aguilera on November 21, 1816 outside the gates of the then city of Santa Cruz during the South American War of Independence .

In the Plaza El Parí today a bust commemorates Ignacio Warnes and the battle in the floodplain of El Parí .
