José Ignacio Warnes García de Zúñiga (* 1772 in Buenos Aires , † November 21, 1816 in El Parí ) was an Argentine colonel who fought on the side of the insurgents against the Spaniards in the Argentine War of Independence. He was killed in the battle of El Parí against Colonel Francisco Javier Aguilera .

José Ignacio Warnes was the son of the Mayor of Buenos Aires, Manuel Antonio José Gervasio Warnes Durango, and of Ana Jacoba García de Zúñiga Lizola. His sister Manuela was married to José Joaquín Prieto Vial , President of the Republic of Chile from 1831 to 1841.

In his honor, the Ignacio Warnes province in Bolivia bears his name today , as does the capital of this province, Warnes .
