El Paso Corporation was a United States corporation and headquartered in Houston , Texas . In 2011 Kinder Morgan took over El Paso Corporation .

The company was one of the largest natural gas suppliers in North America.

In 1999, El Paso Corporation doubled in size by merging with Sonat from Birmingham , Alabama .

El Paso Corporation owns a natural gas pipeline network that stretches from the Atlantic to the Pacific in the United States. The network includes companies such as ANR Pipeline , Colorado Interstate Gas , El Paso Natural Gas , Southern Natural Gas and Tennessee Gas Pipeline . El Paso Corporation also owns 50 percent of Great Lakes Transmission and Florida Gas Transmission

El Paso Corporation has approximately 6,000 employees. The company's main locations are in Houston, Texas, Birmingham, Alabama and Colorado Springs.

The company was founded in 1928 by Paul Kayser.
