Kinder Morgan operates 135,000 km of natural gas and oil pipelines and approximately 180 tank terminals in the United States. The company was founded by Richard Kinder and was formed in 1997 as a spin-off from Enron's pipeline business. Kinder Morgan includes the subsidiaries Kinder Morgan Energy Partners , Kinder Morgan Management and El Paso Pipeline Partners . Kinder Morgan is also the leading supplier of carbon dioxide for tertiary oil production in North America.
