Brisbane is a small town in San Mateo County in the US state of California . It is located in southern San Francisco and north of San Francisco International Airport at the foot of San Bruno Mountain.
history
Following the landing of Spanish missionaries in San Francisco Bay, the land was given to Jacob Primer Leese, a merchant from Ohio, as Rancho Cañada de Guadalupe la Visitación y Rodeo Viejo . Today's Brisbane was initially called Visitacion City and was not renamed to its current name until after 1920 by Arthur Annis. A temporary demolition of the city for a better connection to San Francisco by the Southern Pacific Railroad was not renewed for years due to the uncertainty after the financial crisis in 1907 .
