The agony of Bismarck is a Franco-Belgian comic published in 1946 .
Plot and publications
The 16-page short story, which describes the last battle of the German battleship Bismarck against the British Navy in August 1941, was published in Spirou magazine between September 1946 and December 1946 . The Dupuis publishing company inserted the story in Tout Buck Danny (1983) and L'intégrale Buck Danny (2010). The story appeared in German in the first volume of the Buck-Danny Complete Edition by Salleck .

It was the first collaboration between the author Jean-Michel Charlier and the illustrator Victor Hubinon and at the same time the first story written by Charlier himself. Charlier also took on the technical details such as ships and planes as well as the backgrounds, while Hubinon drew the characters. This division of labor continued into 1951.
