Salleck Publications

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Salleck Publications ( Eckart Schott Verlag ) is a smaller German comic book publisher based in Wattenheim in the Palatinate . It was founded in 1990 by Eckart Schott, a former translator at Buzzemi Verlag. The publishing program consists mainly of Franco-Belgian comics . The best-known series include Buck Danny ( Hubinon , Charlier ), Die Minimenschen ( Seron ), Yakari ( Derib , Job ) and Harry and Platte ( Rosy , Will ).

The range also includes more ambitious publications that are tailored to the manageable circle of German comic collectors and enthusiasts and whose publication the established comic publishers often shy away from because of the excessive publishing risk. Examples are albums such as Letters from My Mill ( Mittéï ), The Tree of Two Springs (Will, Roba , Derib, Walthéry , Miel ) or The Blue Diary ( André Juillard ) as well as anthologies by Dan Dare .

Other current series are Cotton Kid ( Pearce , Léturgie ), Natascha (Walthéry), Pin-up ( Berthet , Yann ), Spirit ( Will Eisner ), The Blue Boys ( Lambil , Cauvin ), Boule & Bill ( Jean Roba , Laurent Verron ), Margot's reports (Marin, Van der Zuiden), Mauro Caldi (Constant, Lapière), The Adventures of Jaques Gibrat ( Thierry Dubois , Jean-Luc Delvaux ) or The Pauker (Pica, Erroc).

Eckart Schott has been awarded the City of Erlangen's Max and Moritz Prize twice for his publishing activities : in 2004 for Thirty-Six Views of the Eiffel Tower (André Juillard) and in 2010 for The Spirit Archive (Will Eisner).
