Jean Roba
Jean Roba (born July 28, 1930 in Schaerbeek near Brussels , † June 14, 2006 in Brussels) was a Belgian comic artist .
Career
After finishing school, Roba began training as a commercial artist. In the early 1950s he was the head of the graphics department of a Belgian advertising agency. After work he attended drawing courses for 12 years at the Brussels University and received an academic training as a draftsman. He worked with André Franquin , Jidéhem , Yvan Delporte , Maurice Tillieux and Vicq .
His best-known characters are Boule & Bill (also known as "Schnieff and Schnuff" in Germany), which Laurent Verron has been running since 2003 . The rascals (fr .: La Ribambelle , in Germany also known as "The Six") also came from Roba's pen.
