Pembina Pipeline is a Canadian pipeline operator based in Calgary . The company operates a network of pipelines in western Canada and a connecting pipeline in the United States, which runs primarily through Nevada and Utah. Pembina Pipeline has transport and storage facilities for crude oil, condensate, liquid gas and natural gas. The company also maintains processing plants for oil and gas.
Pembina Pipeline was founded in 1954 and maintained a pipeline system in the Pembina oil field in the Canadian province of Alberta. In 1978 the billionth barrel of oil was transported. An IPO took place in 1998. Over a period of several decades, various competitors were taken over, which greatly expanded the company's own pipeline network. The largest acquisitions include Provident Energy (2012), Veresen (2017) and the Canadian division of Kinder Morgan (2019).
