Restaurant Brands International is a system catering company headquartered in Canada . The company was formed in 2014 from the merger of Burger King with the Canadian fast-food restaurant chain Tim Hortons . In addition to these two brands, the US chain Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits also belongs to RBI. Worldwide over 24,000 branches in more than 100 countries are operated according to the franchise model . RBI has 6,000 employees, but this figure does not include the employees of the franchise partners. The main shareholder of the company is the Brazilian investment company 3G Capital with a stake of over 50% .
