3G Capital is a Brazilian investment company based in Rio de Janeiro . It was founded in 2004 by Jorge Paulo Lemann , Carlos Alberto Sicupira , Marcel Herrmann Telles and Roberto Thompson Motta. Alexandre Behring is the managing partner . Anuroop Duggal has been a new partner since January 2015. He came from Goldman Sachs in February 2013 .

2008 3G Capital was at the hostile takeover of Anheuser-Busch by InBev involved. In 2010 the company took over Burger King and since 2014 has held a 50% stake in its new parent company Restaurant Brands International . In 2014 Hathaway H. J. Heinz was taken over together with Berkshire and in 2015 it was merged with Kraft Foods to form The Kraft Heinz Company .

3G Capital is known for harsh austerity measures in the companies it acquired and has therefore been dubbed the "cutthroat".
