The Danaher Corporation is a transnational conglomerate from the United States , the New York Stock Exchange and on the S & P 100 are listed. The company's headquarters are in Washington, DC

The company was founded in 1969 under the name of DMG, Inc. established. The name changed to Diversified Mortgage Investors, Inc. in 1978. In 1984 the company was finally renamed Danaher Corporation.

Business areas

Danaher is best known in Germany through the acquisition of the German companies Kavo Dental and Leica Microsystems . The subsidiaries of Danaher Corporation employ over 71,000 people worldwide, more than 8,000 of them in Germany. The Group's activities are concentrated in the business-to-business area .

The group includes more than 400 companies, most of which are based in the US and Europe. Selection: Beckman Coulter , Hach Lange , Esko-Graphics , Laetus , Nobel Biocare , Ott Hydromet , Pall Corporation , Videojet Technologies , X-Rite .

On July 2, 2016, Danaher carried out a spin-off of the Test & Measurement segment, the Industrial Technologies segment and the Retail / Commercial Petroleum platform. These included companies such as Matco Tools, AMMCO-COATS, and Fluke Corporation . This created the new company Fortive Corporation .

Criticism of the Danaher Business System

In the case of companies that have been taken over, the Danaher Business System tries to maximize the return by all possible means, including by pitting companies and locations against each other. Die Zeit records: “They don't care about the traditional [German] culture of consensus in companies”.
